Style or function? You can have both.
What began as a kitchen renovation evolved to accommodate additional needs the homeowners otherwise lacked.
Discussions with the couple revealed that since they don’t often cook, the kitchen redesign could be kept simple, paving the way to take up more space for more in-demand needs – for example, the lack of a mudroom. Cabinetry near the back door was added, giving the family a place to toss jackets or umbrellas and the kids a spot to drop backpacks after school. New bookcases and storage were added in the dining room, which, along with the office, received a full renovation that matched the couple’s international design tastes.
