Let the food do the designing.
If you have nothing to hide, show it off.
Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
At Charleston, S.C. restaurant Verde, where salad is the main event and transparency in ingredients is instilled in brand, the design palette pulls from the food’s hues: vertical stripes of greens, purple, yellow and orange highlight the walls. The leafy greens and fresh [fresh? Vibrant?] toppings are displayed to customers, while simple high and low-top tables paired with green and white metal Tolix-style chairs give the place an industrial farmhouse chic. To fill some of the empty space near the ceiling, low-cost wall graphics with “Green” written in various languages give the restaurateurs big bang for their buck.
